Gennadiy Golovkin disappointed on how Canelo handled loss to Bivol

While speaking to FanSided, Gennadiy Golovkin explained his disappointment with how Canelo Alvarez handled losing to Dmitry Bivol. 

In the build-up to their trilogy boxing bout, Canelo Alvarez has had plenty of negative things to say about Gennadiy Golovkin. Now, it’s Golovkin’s turn.

Golovkin and Alvarez fight for the third time at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday, Sept. 17. They fought to a draw in 2017, but Alvarez was awarded the majority decision in their 2018 rematch.

Since their first fight, there has been a great deal of tension between Golovkin and Alvarez. Alvarez tested positive for clenbuterol before their second bout. He attributed the positive test to tainted meat, but Golovkin was critical of Alvarez’s positive test.

Golovkin’s comments stuck with Alvarez, who hasn’t had many nice things to say about Golovkin since. He recently expressed his strong dislike for Golovkin to FanSided.

“I think [I dislike] Golovkin a little more because Caleb Plant, he’s a person who tells you what he thinks,” Alvarez said to FanSided. “He tells you the truth, right?
