“Also confirms the [four] names on the table: Munguia, Benavidez, Charlo, Crawford,” the tweet continued. It further added, “Says he’d like to do [two] fights, but Saul wants to do a 3rd in Saudi Arabia.” While Canelo is considering these four opponents, it’s important to highlight that Canelo has claimed the Cinco de Mayo fight would be against an American, who many think is Jermall Charlo. The changing stances of Jermall Charlo
Jermall Charlo is coming off a unanimous decision win over Jose Benavidez, a fight that saw him return to the ring after two years of break. And in recent rumors, he was touted as Canelo’s next opponent, something he confirmed through his Instagram story on 14 February. However, things were not as they seemed.
‼️ Jermall Charlo has now declared that he’s not had any talks about fighting Canelo Alvarez next on May 4th: “I haven’t even talked to Al Haymon since I last fought. So everybody that keeps talking about, ‘You’re about to fight Canelo,’ – ain’t no confirmation.”
