Although Robert Garcia praised Charlo for taking the bout against Alvarez, he felt climbing two weight classes harmed Jermell’s performance. According to him, even though Charlo gained the required weight, ‘Iron Man’ was no match for the power that Canelo possessed at Super Middleweight. Likewise, Garcia felt that after Charlo felt Alvarez’s power, he knew he could not win the bout.
“Moving up two weight classes, especially, from 154 to 168, it’s a big jump. Two weight classes at Super Welterweight [means] you’re talking about 12 lbs. It’s a big difference,” said Garcia.
