Cameron defeats McCaskill to become undisputed champion
Britain’s Chantelle Cameron took a clear unanimous decision to beat Jessica McCaskill and become the undisputed super-lightweight champion on Saturday.
At the Eithad Arena in Abu Dhabi, Cameron outboxed her American opponent over 10 rounds, to win 97-93, 96-94 and 96-94 on the judges’ scorecards.
It marks the culmination of Cameron’s impressive run through the sport. The fighter from Northampton, now undefeated in 17 contests, won the WBC 140lb title in 2020 and last year added the IBF belt to her collection when she beat Mary McGee.

Bivol vs. Ramirez: live results, video, round by round
Following on from his suprise win over Canelo in May, Dmitry Bivol seeks to cement his place as one of the top fighters in boxing today by beating dangerous challenger Gilberto ‘Zurdo’ Ramirez.
Bivol (20-0, 11 KOs) had till that point amassed a professional resume that was impressive, but not outstanding, before launching himself into the stratosphere with that victory. Zurdo (44-0-0, 30 KOs) is currently in pretty much the position Bivol was then, and the dangerous, hard-punching challenger will be looking to grab the chance to prove himself with everything he’s got. Bivol is going to be favoured, but expect a tough test.
This page will provide live play-by-play of the main event. The card starts at 1:30 p.m. ET and can be streamed on DAZN, with the main event expected shortly after 5 p.m, but stay tuned here for updates on that time.
Round by Round
Round 1: Both men open by trying to hold the center of the ring, but without throwing match. Peppering each other with jabs. Ref already talking to them about stepping on each other’s feet in this southpaw (Ramirez) vs orthodox (Bivol) matchup. The worry was Bivol would respond to Zurdo’s size by playing keep-away, but he’s not so far. Starts to get a few right hands in as the round goes no, but he takes a couple solid ones back. They spring to life and exchange in the last few seconds, Bivol winning that. 10-9 Bivol
Round 2: Zurdo trying to use his height and length to punch over Bivol’s jab. It works once but Bivol’s too sharp to let that be a route consistently. The 1-2 with the 2 to the body is working for him though, and he follows up by catching him solidly upstairs. Bivol responds with a quick combo that snaps Zurdo’s head back. Bivol pushing forward now, he evidently wants to take Zurdo’s length away. Again they end the round exchanging, and the difference in these moments is definitely that Bivol’s defence is the better. 10-9 Bivol, 20-18
Round 3: Zurdo working that 1-2 again, but Bivol’s already got him leaning too far to get it home and counters. This isn’t a schooling just yet, but we’re starting to see a level difference. Zurdo pushes forward and does catch him, but once again he’s leaning too far and gets countered. Zurdo
Preview: Dmitry Bivol vs Gilberto Ramirez
Dmitry Bivol follows up his unexpected, brilliant, win over Saul Alvarez in May by travelling to Dubai for a showdown against another high-profile Mexican, unbeaten Gilberto ‘Zurdo’ Ramirez. Ramirez hasn’t fought anyone in nearly this class before, but then, the same could be said of Bivol when he stepped up in May, so this looks to be an interesting test for both men.
The fight will air on DAZN in the US and Europe, with the card starting at 1.30 p.m.ET.
Preview
Bivol is, of course, on a high right now. He was champion already when he fought Canelo, but he went overnight from ‘beltholder’, proven but not proven so to speak, to the man in the division, the one with a target on his back. He also went from someone seen as solid-but-unspectacular to proving himself a masterful boxer, with a set of skills he’d mostly just been hiding till he needed it.
First to step up to the plate is Zurdo Ramirez, a 31-year-old Mexican who’s fun to watch and comes with an impressive looking 44-0 record but has been pretty much marking time waiting for the big fight for years. His resume’s not terrible, he’s fought some solid opponents and even when keeping busy rarely takes complete mismatches, which some of his contemporaries are guilty of. But there’s a decent argument to make that the last time he fought someone genuinely proven at world level without being well past his best was Arthur Abraham, six years ago and a division below. And even Abraham was 36 at the time. There’s definitely been a sense of keeping his powder dry and his 0 safe for the big cash-in. Canelo never materialized for him, but if he can beat Bivol he definitely strengthens both his case for getting that fight someday and his overall future paydays, so here we go.
Prediction
Previous to the Canelo fight, Bivol had built a reputation as a tag-and-move fighter, winning fights by catching his opponent with jabs and short combinations before escaping to safety, without much engagement in close. His plan to beat Canelo was a lot more complicated, and did involve clo

Jake Paul calls out ‘b—ch’ Nate Diaz, Canelo after beating Silva
Jake Paul won the biggest fight of his career, going back-and-forth and defeating a much older, although far more experienced fighter in Anderson Silva. Paul even stamped his win by knocking down the UFC legend in the final round to win a hard earned decision.

Nevada’s luck has yet to run out. The Silver State reported its 19th consecutive month of more than $1 billion in gaming revenue.
According to the Nevada Gaming Control Board, the state’s casinos collected $1.2 billion in revenue—an 18% increase from the same month in 2019, before the pandemic.
The state is also on pace to eclipse last year’s record-breaking gaming revenue total of $13.4 million. Nevada’s casinos generated $11 billion over the last nine months, which is 13.2% higher than the same period in 2021. Revenues from the Las Vegas Strip are up a robust 22.7%.
“We have three months left in the calendar year and I’m going to go out on a limb and say this year is going to surpass last year,” says Michael Lawton, senior economic analyst at the Nevada Gaming Control Board.
The Strip continues to carry Nevada’s rally, which is approaching the two-year mark. In September, Las Vegas casinos brought in $693 million, up 8.3% from September 2021. Slot machines inside Strip casinos brought in 15.3% more revenue than last September, while football season, concerts and special events also helped Vegas continue to attract tourists and dollars. For instance, on September 17, Canelo Alvarez defeated Gennady Golovkin in their third boxing match at T-Mobile Arena. The next day, the Las Vegas Raiders played their home opener against the Arizona Cardinals at Allegiant Stadium. Earlier in the month, 1980s metal bands Mötley Crüe, Def Leppard and Poison drew big crowds to Allegiant, and Aerosmith launched its residency at the Park MGM.
Statewide, revenue is up 13% current year to date over last year. Every market is up for the f

Hennessy’s Senior Vice President, Jasmin Allen, Speaks On Canelo’s Champ Status, Nas’ Brand Position, And The Spirit’s Family Ties
Hennessy has long been the drink of choice for the edgier side of Hip-Hop. For at least two decades, the relationship with brown liquor and the genre has connected with artists like Tupac Shakur to Mobb Deep, to even Nas becoming a spokesperson for the hundreds-year-old cognac out of France. Yet, with all the love the brand has gotten from the music, it has also ventured out into the world of sports. Most notably, becoming the official spirit of the National Basketball Association back in 2020.
What seemed like an unlikely pairing has become an expanding venture as the NBA and Hennessy’s relationship, and role to one another is welcomed and flourishing. It has undoubtedly shined a light on some of the other partnerships in the sports space that they have occupied even before the NBA deal. After taking over Las Vegas for the big fight weekend of Canelo Alverez vs. GGG this past September, Hennessy has shown dedication to the sports lane, all while supporting their spokesman in Canelo, who is a champion worthy of a brand like Hennessy with their family-focused nature.

The spirit’s family theme was present in full as the Senior Vice President of Hennessy, Jasmin Allen took center room at the pre-fight dinner and gave an impassioned speech on the unity of loved ones, Canelo’s company ties, and Hennessy’s dedication to excellence through la familia.
“We’ve been a partner of Canelo’s since 2017, and over time, you grow together. In any relationship, you get to know each other. Our relationship with him has always been a positive one, but it couldn’t be stronger than it is right now,” Allen states. “I think there is mutual understanding, mutual respect, and we have shared values. We believe in persistence, resilience…even in the low times.”
Overcoming obstacles is the lane of life, and Allen spoke to Canelo pushing through and Hennessy being there for him. “[He] lost his previous fight before this one with GGG; we were so proud of the message after he lost. ‘I wanted to push myself. I wanted to go as far as I possibly could. Despite the outcome being what we thought it would be, I’m going to pick myself up and get back in the ring. I’m going to keep fighting, cus that’s who I am, and that’s what I believe in.’”

Throughout the weekend, Hennessy took over the Vegas strip to promote its champion, Canelo, debuting their first-ever 3D billboard on the Las Vegas strip, featuring Canelo shadow boxing in the ring before “punching through” the glass screen of the billboard. Prior to the fight, Hennessy hosted its Locker Room Live stream on social media and the metaverse. Fans were able to tune in and watch the champ get ready to face his rival.
After a full night of hosting entertainment stars, company big wigs, and rocking out to 2 Chainz’s birthday bash performance at Drai’s Nightclub, Allen sat with VIBE to discuss Hennessy’s mission going forward and dedication to community through action with their Unfinished Business program and partners like Nas and Canelo.
When you extend into sports in the way that you have, what do you feel about the sports market that works with Hennessy? Especially with the NBA partnership.
First and foremost, I think that sports are a passion point like music is a passion point. When you lean into consumers’ passion points, that’s how you can make a real connection. Where a consumer is passionate, that’s where they are the most open, the most receptive. That’s a fantastic way
