Coming off his first fight of 2023, Canelo Alvarez is already starting to his eye his next potential opponent and is targeting Jermall Charlo and Badou Jack, according to ESPN’s Mike Coppinger.

Alvarez, 32, defeated John Ryder on May 6 in Mexico via unanimous decision. He and his trainer/manager, Eddy Reynoso, met with PBC founder Al Haymon in Cleveland, the two sides discussed a possible fight with Charlo, per Coppinger’s sources.

The undisputed super middleweight champion has also been in talks with Jack’s manager, Amer Abdallah.

In the past, Alvarez has been adamant about wanting a rematch against Dmitry Bivol in September. Bivol handed Alvarez his first defeat in nearly nine years in May 2022.

But now it looks like the target may be changing for him.

Charlo, 33, would be coming off a very long layoff to fac

Fans Warn David Benavidez After Reportedly Making “Close to $50 Million” Offer to Canelo Alvarez

Fans Warn David Benavidez After Reportedly Making “Close to $50 Million” Offer to Canelo Alvarez

Finally, plugging one more brick in the wall, David Benavidez and his team rolled out a new deal to ‘Canelo’ Alvarez. Sports Illustrated‘s Chris Mannix initially reported it. Michael Benson shared that a $50 million guaranteed purse could be Alvarez’s, but his undisputed Super Middleweight belts would be at stake. It follows the frequent callouts for a fight from Benavidez’s end, besides remaining at the top slot in the must-watch list of the fans.

Benavidez successfully defended his (Interim) WBC Super Middleweight title from Caleb Plant on March 25. On the other hand, ‘Canelo’ Alvarez secured his undisputed title a second time from John Ryder‘s challenge. Thus a match between the two seems logical. However, unforeseen reasons and other holdups keep the big fight hot and cold. Perhaps the new proposal might open new doors to the much-anticipated battle.

Skeptical fans caution David Benavidez not to take Alvarez lightly

Unsurprisingly, the news has pulled in nearly half-a-million views. Many fans chimed in with their feelings. Some welcomed the idea, but quite a few remain adamant that ‘Canelo’ Alvarez is not your run-on-mill boxer to toy around. Most followers think David Benavidez will have a cakewalk over ‘Canelo’ Alvarez, highlighting the following user. However, they should understand that the latter stopped Caleb Plant in the eleventh round. So he argues that Banevidez struggled till the final bell despite all the planning.

People so quick to say Benavidez beats Canelo but they forget that Canelo stopped Plant, and Benavidez couldn’t do it even with the blueprint.

Agreeing with the details of the proposed deal, a user named Anthony states that Alvarez is a senior boxer. Moreover, he has been in the business longer compared to Benavidez. Hence it lends his team more credibility and privileges by default to seek higher returns from a fight.

In a tweet, it was announced that Coleman was coming back for a celebrity boxing match. But McGregor seemed to like the limelight as he accepted the challenge in a deleted tweet.

However, McGregor’s move didn’t go unnoticed. The 58-year-old UFC Hall of Famer took to Instagram and sent a reply to the former UFC double champion. After claiming to be a big McGregor fan, he seemed confident about defeating ‘The Notorious’ in a boxing bout. Furthermore, he kept saying that being sober was, in fact, cool. Conor McGregor and Canelo Alvarez latest MMA vs. Boxer spat

Conor McGregor and Canelo Alvarez latest MMA vs. Boxer spat

UFC superstar Conor McGregor and boxing champion Canelo Alvarez are the latest in a growing number of mixed martial artist vs. boxer spats. The two recently jawwed about who could beat the other, all resulting in much ado about nothing.

Jon Jones vs. Tyson Fury gets Dana White endorsement

UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones has been engaged in a verbal battle with heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury of late. For weeks, the two have been spitting at each other, becoming one of the only potential fights that garnered the endorsement of UFC president Dana White.

That verbal battle is likely to remain a war of words. Jones is adamant he would throttle Fury in the Octagon, while the boxer only wants to fight under the Marquess of Queensberry boxing rules. So the self-proclaimed baddest men on the planet want nothing to do with the other’s sport.

Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather came to fruition

McGregor, of course, is no stranger to verbal warfare, even garnering enough attention to conjure up an actual boxing match with pugilistic great Floyd Mayweather. That is certainly one mark in McGregor’s favor. As much as he spits fire, it often is backed up with action.

Even though he lost to Mayweather, the bout happened, and it shattere

Canelo Álvarez disputes the notion that Gervonta Davis has become the “face of boxing” after the latter defeated Ryan Garcia by seventh-round knockout on April 22.

“I’m not retired yet, my friend,” Álvarez said to Doug Fischer of The Ring in a 20-minute Zoom roundtable with other boxing writers Thursday.

“They can say whatever they want, but it’s not that easy. One fight does not put you in that position. You need to do a lot of things.”

Davis, who is 29-0 lifetime with 27 knockouts, would disagree and said this to Showtime’s Jim Gray after his win: “I’m definitely the face of boxing. Abso-f–king-lutely.” Others back up Davis’ claim, most notably former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson.

He’s certainly riding a massive high after the
