The boxing world is alive with murmurs again about a potential skirmish between former undisputed super middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez and former undisputed welterweight champion Terence Crawford. However, this time, Crawford’s backers were forced to realize the harsh reality of Crawford’s situation. 

‘Bud’ last appeared in the ring against Israil Madrimov in August, securing a hard-fought unanimous decision win. While he managed to secure a win, it was the flattest performance from the Nebraska native in his first bout at 154 pounds. Many questioned his abilities at higher weight classes, where the potential Canelo fight would go down.

Coming back to the latest chatter, Mo Boxing No Problem revealed “talks to stage Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford at the Raiders’ Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas are underway.” Previously, His Excellency Turki Alalshikh had reached out to Canelo’s team to set up a fight between him and Crawford.

However, the fight fell apart when Alalshikh claimed Canelo had demanded unrealistic numbers for the fight. This turned into a public back-and-forth between the duo through social media and interviews. In the end, the potential fight seemed far-fetched and out of reach. But, according to Mo Boxing No Problem, “Turki Alalshikh is involved” in the fight talks.
