Jermell Charlo will be the first opponent of Canelo Alvarez under the $100 million PBC three-fight deal. So, during the press conference, Alvarez addressed the past statements made by Jermell Charlo where he stated that he didn’t believe in Canelo Alvarez’s skills. As it turned out, this was not taken well by ‘Cinnamon’ and he said, “I have this motivation. He never believe in my skills. He’s always calling me out and, you know, I’m ready to show him in a couple of days.”
Instantly, the host of the press conference, asked Alvarez whether his motivation to excel completely depends on what Charlo said or is it also to prove to the media that considers him to have “lost a step“. To this, he responded by saying, “You know, you never prove anything to the people. They always have something to say. I just want to prove myself.”
