Canelo aims to land knockout blow against Scull in Saudi debut

Canelo aims to land knockout blow against Scull in Saudi debut

Mexican boxing legend Saul “Canelo” Alvarez will be looking to unify the super middleweight titles this weekend, when he squares off with IBF champion William Scull in Saudi Arabia’s Riyadh.

Alvarez, 34, brings a record of 62-2-2 with 39 knockouts into what promises to be a high-stakes clash, as he continues his tradition of fighting during the Cinco de Mayo weekend.

Canelo is coming off a punishing unanimous decision over Edgar Berlanga in Las Vegas in September.

Ahead of that bout, Alvarez was stripped of his International Boxing Federation belt when he opted to box Berlanga rather than Scull — the IBF’s mandatory challenger.

This weekend’s contest will mark the first time the Mexican champion will fight outside of North America during his nearly 20-year professional career.

The boxers are set to enter the ri

Canelo Alvarez wins undisputed title in listless performance, gets superfight with Bud Crawford

It wasn’t pretty, but Canelo Alvarez did what he needed to do.

On Saturday, Alvarez put his WBA (Super), WBC, WBO, and The Ring super middleweight titles on the line in a unification bout with IBF champion William Scull for the undisputed super middleweight title at The Venue in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The bout was the last step in the path of setting up a superfight between Alvarez and Terence Crawford for the undisputed title, and though it was far from a thr

Nigeria’s Ajagba frustrated Bakole of Congo with a disciplined display off the back foot.

The 31-year-old was light on his feet as he stuck and moved his way through ten rounds.

Bakole boxed at a pedestrian pace for the first half of the fight but came on strong in the later rounds as he trapped Ajagba against the ropes and let his hands go.

Despite this, many felt it was too little, too late for Bakole, with the DAZN broadcast having Ajagba up by two rounds at the final bell.

One judge agreed with their assessment, scoring the fight 96-94 in Ajagba’s favour.

However, the other two judges had it 95-95 even.

The result didn’t go down well with esteemed boxing journalist Dan Rafael, who tweeted: “We go to the scorecards in #BakoleAjagba: 96-94 Ajagba, 95-95 x 2. A draw. Laughable. Ajagba won that

1win proudly announces its new global partnership with boxing superstar Canelo Álvarez. The news comes as Álvarez gets ready to face undefeated contender William Scull in a bout for the IBF super middleweight title.

Canelo Álvarez already holds the WBA, WBC, and WBO belts. A win over Scull would make him reclaim the IBF belt and become the undisputed champion in his division.

With this deal, 1win steps into Canelo’s corner not just as a sponsor but as a long-term partner. Both sides say the partnership is built on shared values like discipline, performance, and pushing limits in sport.

“When we talk about champions, we talk about people like Saul Álvarez! A fighter who went from a farm near Guadalajara to the absolute top of world boxing. 60 wins, titles in four weight divisions—and still hungr

Jaime Munguia vs. Bruno Surace Net Worth & Career Earnings 2025: Who Is the Richer Boxer?

Jaime Munguia vs. Bruno Surace Net Worth & Career Earnings 2025: Who Is the Richer Boxer?

Despite being a massive underdog during their first outing, the man from Marseille managed to do something even Canelo had been unable to do. So, after almost five months of anticipation, Jaime Munguia and Bruno Surace are finally set to clash once again. This time, Munguia will be eagerly looking to avenge the brutal 6th-round KO loss he suffered at the hands of the Frenchman last year. The rematch is scheduled for a full 12 rounds in front of 8,000 fans at The Venue in Riyadh. For Munguia, the loss was a tough pill to swallow, coming shortly after his 10th-round KO win over Erik Bazinyan after tasting his first career defeat to Canelo Alvarez.

Meanwhile, Surace enters the ring with an unblemished 26-0 record. Both fighters weighed in at 167¾ lbs and fight out of the orthodox stance, making this rematch even more evenly matched on paper. While Surace holds the momentum, his knockout ratio sits at just 19.23%, compared to Munguia’s 79.55%. If Munguia has learned from his mistake, he might just turn the tables tonight. But before the punches fly, let’s see what both fighters are earning for this highly anticipated rematch.

Mike Tyson Ends Canelo Alvarez’s $150M Plans With One Line

It is no exaggeration to say that Turki Alalshikh is single-handedly saving boxing. You know the “I used to dream of times like these” meme of Michael Jordan sobbing while hugging the NBA championship trophy? Yeah, that is how boxing fans feel right now. In the last two years alone, the Saudis have organized an undisputed heavyweight title clash in twenty years, as well as some of the most-awaited clashes in the boxing world.

And now, the Saudis have signed the current face of boxing, Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez, to a reported five-fight deal worth $400 million. The Mexican superstar is set to face IBF middleweight champ William Scull this weekend at the ANB Arena in the Saudi sports capital of Riyadh. But that fight is just the appetizer for the real fight fans want to see!

If the WBO, WBA, and WBC super-middleweight champ beats Scull, he will face former pound-for-pound king and reigning WBA super-welterweight champion, Terence ‘Bud’ Crawford, who will be moving up to face him. But the question most people have is: If ‘Canelo’ is just too big for ‘Bud’? Well, Mike Tyson doesn’t think so.

Badou Jack vs Norair Mikaelian

PREFIGHT: Mikaelian in a white robe with black trim and matching gloves. Jack is out in a white robe with gold trim and matching gloves.

Round 1: Both men out in orthodox and Mikaelian lands a stiff jab right away. Mikaelian looks quite large compared to Jack. Neither man committing to much early, just feeling things out. Both men leaning heavily into their jabs. Jack put his to the body a couple times. Mikaelian also tests the midsection. Jack looks much quicker in there and he’s bouncy, moving around Mikaelian with ease right now. Mikaelian looks stiff. But neither man landing anything meaningful so far. Jack doing almost nothing offensive down the stretch so I guess Mikaelian takes the opening round.

MMA Fighting scores the round 10-9 Mikaelian.

Round 2: Mikaelian back to the jab, high and low. He’s not the most dynamic boxer but he’s going to work technically. Jack starting to jab back. Jack puts a pair of hooks to the body when they get in close. Jack a little more active right now as he circles in the center of the ring. He’s clearly so much quicker with his feet than Mikaelian, despite being 41. Sneaky right hand from Jack as Mikaelian now looking to counter. And Mikaelian lands a good right hand! Jack is fine but the counter came in clean and is the best punch of the fight so far.

MMA Fighting scores the round 10-9 Jack, 19-19 overall.

Round 3: Mikaelian with a nice right hand to kick this round off. And he gets Jack against the ropes for a minute and unleashes a flurry of body shots. Mikaelian opening up his offense now. Jack coming forward more now and lands to the body. Mikaelian fires back. Both men picking up their pace as they settle into this fight. Jack with a big right hand over the top that gets Mikaelian to clinch. Mikaelian tries to get it back before the end of the round but can’t.

MMA Fighting scores the round 10-9 Jack, 29-28 Jack overall.

Round 4: Both men settling in. Jabs still the primary weapons but more power shots are flowing now. Mikaelian with a nice right hand over the top. Lands a body shot into a right hand as they get in close. Mikaelian punching in combination and landing much more now. Jack’s offense fell off here as Mikaelian locks in. Jack loops a big right hand. Exchange of punches. Jack’s footwork has fallen off and Mikaelian is now finding the mark much more. Jack digging into the body.

MMA Fighting scores the round 10-9 Mikaelian, 38-38 overall.

Round 5: Mikaelian works the body again. Jack coming forward now, changing the energy. Jack needs to dig himself back into this because Mikaelian throwing in combination constantly now. Jack getting out-worked now. Mikaelian throwing freely and Jack returning one or two at most. Jack lands a left. Then a big right. His best punch in a minute. NICE right hand from Jack. And another. Real offense from Jack now which he desperately needed. Mikaelian looks a little uncomfortable in there after that.

MMA Fighting scores the round 10-9 Jack, 48-47 Jack overall.

Round 6: Mikaelian comes out firing. Digging in after a bad finish to the last round. But Jack triples up the right hand and big shot gets Mikaelian’s attention. He’s still much faster when he commits. And Mikaelian looking a little more wary right now. And Jack walks Mikaelian into another short snappy right hand. Mikaelian getting touched up a little bit but he keeps throwing back. Both men dig the body.

MMA Fighting scores the round 10-9 Jack, 58-56 Jack overall.

Round 7: Jack might be taking over now. He comes out stalking as Mikael
